I think from the above articles, Curators are doing exciting things in the art world, and are reshaping the definition of a curator. In the latter article, the authors lament the loss of the traditional use of the verb “to curate”, saying that it has become an overused cliche of the social media generation. But perhaps this is a good thing? It is bringing awareness to the wider world of what to curate is. It is upto the Curators (the established and up-and-coming) to shape a new definition of to curate. Change the general perception of what a gallery and museum is, and bring in a new audience who themselves “curate”.
